Fear of doing nothing

Fail fast than fail to do

It is very easy to say that I have no fear but in fact deep down every one is afraid of things. We only hear about those who conquer that F word. It is lot easy just to type that sentence than to do some thing about it to overcome it.

I was trying to dissect my fears over the holiday period and found that this fear has so many facets but the mother of all which pull you back from doing is Fear of Failure. This FoF is like 10 ton stone pulling me downwards every time I want to fly. This year I want to take that leap of faith and do. Because of this I shutdown my ideas even before I do File->New Project on it. Hence the theme of this year for me is Just Do It.

So here is the plan for me to ride with fear and make it as my best friend (I may be being naive in coming up these but hey theme is  to do it, I’d fail than doing nothing).

  1. Its not that I don’t get ideas, in fact I get way too many of them and my brain gets clouded with them. Stick with one idea and do some thing about it is what I am going to do.
  2. Afraid to face criticism, every time I read about Husband, Wife and Donkey story it inspires me but putting that into action is hardest bit. As long as I am truthful, honest and satisfied with whatever I do that is enough. I will accept if there are any faults and I will improve on them but I will not let this fear drown me into sea of not doing.
  3. Keep the momentum, instead of running a marathon on one day and resting for next days I would like to act on the things bit by bit every day.

God’s Gift :)

I prayed god to help me in understanding this world better.  I have asked him to keep my motivation  and spirits up all the time. He listened to all my prayers and blessed me with an angel “Anagha”

My wife Seetha gave birth to beautiful baby girl Anagha on 7th September.  Anagha means immaculate and sinless. Its like she is living up to her name already. She is very calm, her pleasant smile is making me very happy.

Thank you god for such a wonderful present and also bless me to bring out the best in me to become awesome father. Hoping to learn so many things from her.

Failures are stepping stones

EPIC Fail

“I’ve not failed, I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work”- Thomas Edison

May be not exactly same words but you’ve got what I am saying right?

So, tell me honestly how many of you have failed at blogging before and how many of you got back on after a brief hiatus. I too failed before. Lost my interest after couple of posts and from there it went downward spiral. This time, did some thinking, regrouped my resources and came back with slightly different approach.

I promised my self to publish regularly not just whenever I feel like doing it. I am going to explore wide variety of topics including the stuff I read, stuff I do and stuff I found interesting. I am going write about things I would like to read.

I have Failed Fast(Lean Engineering Catch Phrase :)) now I know what not to do if you want to be regular at blogging. Wish me good luck this time. 🙂
